Yes, it's time for another thrilling installment of, "Using Ajax for all the wrong reasons" (theme song sung to the tune of, "Looking for love in all the wrong places"). What, you mean that's not a recurring series yet? Well, let's declare it to be one, from here on out!So, Roger at 456 Berea St. wrote about the debacle that is Windows Live Shopping. First of all, it currently supports only IE, which gave me an uncomfortable flashback to 1997. Secondly, and more to the point of this post, it uses Ajax seemingly for no reason other than Ajax is the hip new technology on the block.
Bottom line: I'm not impressed. (Full disclosure: I was using Virtual PC, so it might be slightly faster on a real PC.) If you have a different opinion about Windows Live Shopping, feel free to share it, though I can't promise I'll change my tune.
