Web 2.0 glossary

A few months ago, I mentioned my loathing of the term "Web 2.0." Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the phrase will be gettin' lost anytime soon; biz types have seized it as The Next Big Thing to include in all manner of proposals, presentations, and so on.

If you can't escape Web 2.0, the least you can do is be straight on what it actually means. Thankfully, SixThings provides a glossary of six Web 2.0 terms for your perusal. Arm yourself, and be prepared to fire off definitions when you hear the suits speaking in vagaries.

The glossary covers the following terms:

Semantic
Folksonomy (ugh)

2. I agree with Bjorn. His activity is better than believing that Web 2.0 is reality though it will get you a job saying you'll make the companies webpage Web 2.0 compatible. Morons.

3. I had a lot of fun finding buzzwords to put in my destroy-the-buzzwords JavaScript game, Buzzword Hellfire.

The words I used were: Web 2.0, Tagging, Mashup, Blogosphere, Folksonomy, Social Software, Conversation, The Long Tail, Radical Trust, Less is More, Meme, Content Remixing, Semantic Web, Building to Flip, Web as Platform, Public Beta, Social Web, Rich User Experience and AJAX. So if you want to blow these all up, go play the game :)
